Networks Basics

 A computer network or data network is a telecommunications network which allows nodes to share resources.
 The connections between nodes are established using either cable media or wireless media.
 Computer networks support an enormous number of applications and services such as access to the World Wide Web
 Use of email and instant messaging applications as well as many others.


 File sharing:         Networking of computers helps the network users to share data files
 Application sharing:  Applications can be shared over the network, and this allows to implement client/server application
